But Watt's response was clear: "The life of a college football coach has absolutely no appeal to me." He elaborated, explaining his love for the pure coaching aspect, helping players improve, but then added, "But then there's all the meetings, the hours, the recruiting, and the travel. You have to convince 17-year-olds they're the best, and that's just the beginning."
And that's not all. Watt continued, "Then you factor in NIL, boosters, and post-game scrutiny. 'You didn't cover the spread?' I'm not interested in any of that. Even with a $50 million offer, I'd pass."
But here's where it gets controversial: With Fickell's buyout at a hefty $27.5 million (one of the highest in college football), and other coaches being fired for less this season, could Wisconsin be looking for a new head coach soon?
